VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash (ex-GUNS N' ROSES) is among the musicians appearing in TV ads for a new campaign partnering First Act guitars and Volkswagen cars. Custom First Act axes will be given away to purchasers of new VW automobiles, and feature a built-in pre-amp allowing them to be played through the vehicles' stereos. Check out a Volkswagen commercial featuring Slash at YouTube.com.

As previously reported, Slash and CHEAP TRICK's Rick Nielsen joined CAMP FREDDY — the Los Angeles-based "jam" group featuring guitarists Dave Navarro (ex-JANE'S ADDICTION, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) and Billy Morrison (ex-THE CULT bassist, current CIRCUS DIABLO vocalist) alongside VELVET REVOLVER members Matt Sorum (drums) and Scott Weiland (vocals) — to perform their version of CHEAP TRICK's "Surrender" on NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Thursday, October 5. This was CAMP FREDDY's first television appearance since "The Showbiz Show with David Spade" on Comedy Central in late June. (NOTE: CAMP FREDDY guitarist Dave Navarro was unable to appear due to scheduling conflicts.)
